Horizon Line
Ruby/Dakota is pleased to present the exhibition Horizon Line, curated by Mad Eye Gallery. Featuring works by artists Madeline Bohrer, Drea Cofield, Erica Newton, and Gaby Collins-Fernandez, this exhibition invites viewers to look forward, capturing the longing of the horizon in both its simplicity and abstraction. Drawing inspiration from plein air painting, art history, and personal experience, the artists use a variety of techniques — from plaster to digital printing on velvet paper — as symbols of infinite possibility. The horizon line serves as a powerful image in our culture, always present but forever unreachable. It creates a tension of longing, much like when two colors meet in a painting and the entire world seems to pause. Ultimately, Horizon Line serves as a hopeful reminder that art, like the horizon, continues to evolve, pushing boundaries and inspiring change, always moving toward greater possibility.
